PDF: Suicide Increases, Especially Among Men, Showing Greater Need for the Gospel

Sadly statistics have shown the suicide rate among men to be astronomically greater than among any other group of people; racial (black, latino, etc) or sex (men or women).  This is an alarming statistic, and it is heart breaking, knowing that God created each person with a purpose, and in death that purpose was never realized.

Crowder talked about the statistic and all that likely turned the stats towards the overwhelming numbers of those committing suicide to be white men.  In those things that contributed he cited; an anti-white men culture, lack of resources for white men, and on and on.  The facts he puts on the table is very much worth hearing, so I encourage you to listen to hear for yourself;

Listening to the facts and his refection on them, I kept thinking, “the answer is not in ‘resources’  but rather it is in the Gospel.  For this is why God incarnated Himself into human flesh, revealed Himself to us, suffered, died, was buried, rose again, ascended into heaven where He is glorified, it was for the sake of our redemption.  The Gospel IS the answer to the suicide epidemic, for the Gospel IS God’s loved revealed;

“For God so loved the world, as to give his only begotten Son; that whosoever believeth in him, may not perish, but may have life everlasting.”

– John 3:16

Feeling hopeless, lost, and worthless is part of the life we experience in this fallen world.  This world is fallen because of sin, because of a rebellion against God, because we are disconnected to the only One who can give us purpose.  God gave us purpose, for he fashioned each one of us and gave us gifts that we might use for His glory.  And once we see this and one we understand this, though we may feel hopeless, lost, and worthless, we KNOW beyond the feeling that none is it is true.  We know that God created us with purpose and with hope.  And the greatest hope he has given us is the hope in redemption from sin and in the resurrection of the dead.  This is truly a hope worth living for.

Though we suffer in this life, we are not without purpose and hope.  I welcome you to turn to the Lord Jesus Christ, to hear the Gospel.  God loves you and he created you and when he did he gave you a purpose, something to live for.  Find it and live for it today.  And if ever you need someone to talk to, someone to listen, you can reach out to me, I will listen.

The Grace of the Lord be with you.
